Purpose of the Role
To ensure the safety, discipline, well-being, and smooth functioning of the hostel by providing effective supervision and maintaining a secure and supportive environment for students.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Welfare & Supervision
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all hostel residents.
- Monitor students' health, behavior, and overall welfare.
- Provide guidance, counseling, and support to students whenever required.
- Address student grievances and report serious concerns to the management.
Discipline & Hostel Management
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
- Conduct regular room inspections and monitor cleanliness.
- Ensure students follow the daily schedule, study hours, meal timings, and lights-out timings.
- Handle disciplinary issues promptly and maintain proper records.
Attendance & Records
- Maintain accurate student attendance records.
- Keep updated records of student details, visitors, leave permissions, and hostel inventory.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to the management.
Safety & Security
- Ensure proper security arrangements within the hostel premises.
- Monitor entry and exit of students, visitors, and staff.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, or medical situations.
- Coordinate with security personnel and management during emergencies.
Parent Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student welfare and important matters.
- Inform parents and management about any significant behavioral, medical, or disciplinary issues.
Housekeeping & Maintenance
- Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure hostel cleanliness.
- Report maintenance requirements and follow up for timely completion.
- Ensure proper upkeep of hostel facilities, furniture, and equipment.
Mess & Food Supervision
- Monitor the quality, hygiene, and timely serving of food.
- Address student feedback regarding food and hostel facilities.
- Coordinate with kitchen and mess staff for smooth operations.
Staff Coordination
- Coordinate with hostel attendants, housekeeping staff, security personnel, and other support staff.
- Ensure all hostel staff perform their duties effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- Prior experience in hostel administration, student welfare, or residential management preferred.

- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and resolve conflicts.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- High level of integrity, discipline, and responsibility.
Working Conditions
- Residential position (preferred/mandatory as per institution policy).
- Availability during emergencies and outside regular working hours when required.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
