Role Purpose:

To lead and manage all aspects of Direct Taxation for the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, optimizing tax positions, and supporting strategic business decisions. The role involves handling corporate tax matters, transfer pricing, tax audits, and advisory for domestic and international operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns, advance tax, and other statutory filings.
- Oversee tax provisioning and deferred tax computation for financial statements in accordance with Ind AS and IFRS.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Advise on tax implications of business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
Transfer Pricing
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance for cross-border transactions.
- Liaise with consultants and ensure adherence to global TP regulations.
Working Capital unblocking initiatives (Refund and Lower Withholding tax)
- Prepare the working for Lower Withholding Tax and ensure that the lower WHT certificate application is made within time
- Ensure lower WHT applied within the organization to optimize working captial
- Liaising with the consultant for refund follow
- Global Reporting
- Monthly accounting entry as per Management reporting
- Monthly review of ETR and DTA/DTL
- Monthly/Quarterly dataflow submission
- Closely coordinate with Global Tax accounting team for various submissions
- Transfer Pricing
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance for cross-border transactions.
- Litigation & Representation
  - Handle tax assessments, appeals, and represent the company before tax authorities.
  - Prepare responses to notices and manage litigation strategy with external counsel.
- Stakeholder Management
  - Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Business teams to ensure tax compliance in operations.
  - Engage with external advisors and auditors for tax matters.
- Process Improvement & Controls
  - Implement robust internal controls for tax compliance and reporting.
  - Drive automation and process efficiency in tax operations.
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
- 10–15 years of experience in Direct Taxation, preferably in a large corporate or multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Income Tax Act, Transfer Pricing regulations, Ind AS/IFRS , and international tax principles.
- Experience in handling tax audits, assessments, and litigation .
- Skills & Competencies:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
