The Strategic Manager, Founder’s Office works closely with the founders to drive high-priority cross-functional projects, optimize operations, and bridge the gap between big-picture company strategy and day-to-day execution. This is an intensive generalist role designed to multiply a founder’s bandwidth during periods of rapid growth.
As a high-impact, strategic partner, the main purpose of this role is to maximize the founder's efficiency by taking full ownership of initiatives that would otherwise stretch leadership too thin. The incumbent will actively manage the operations and strategic trajectory of the company in close alignment with key executive leaders.
Reporting Structure & Stakeholder Relations
- Direct Report: Reports directly to the Founders.
- Direct Reports (Subordinates): May manage Associate Generalists, Data Analysts, or Project Management Interns depending on special project requirements.
- Key Internal Stakeholders: Collaborates extensively with the Executive Leadership Team, including the VP of Finance, Head of Product, Head of Tech, and Head of Sales.
- External Interfaces: Interacts with Venture Capital/Private Equity Investors, Board Members, Strategic Partners, and Key Institutional Vendors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Special Projects & Growth Initiatives
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that do not yet have a permanent home within standard organizational departments.
- Incubation: Incubate new business lines, geographic expansions, or corporate experiments from conception until they are ready to be transitioned to operational teams.
2. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Vision Translation: Turn high-level vision into structured execution plans, clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and measurable operating metrics.
- Process Optimization: Identify internal operational bottlenecks, build robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and scale internal organizational frameworks.
3. Investor Relations & Fundraising Support
- Capital Raise Preparation: Prepare institutional-grade pitch decks, financial models, and narrative briefs for future fundraising rounds.
- Due Diligence Management: Manage data rooms for corporate due diligence, track investor pipeline metrics, and draft monthly or quarterly investor updates.
4. Founder Leverage & Communication
- Stakeholder Alignment: Coordinate and unblock critical communication paths between product, tech, sales, and finance teams.
- Strategic Sounding Board: Act as a trusted sounding board for the founder, managing key stakeholder communications and drafting critical corporate updates.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. An MBA from a tier-1 institution is highly preferred.
- Experience: 6+ years of post-qualification experience across management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, venture capital, or scaling early-stage startups.
