We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and student-centered Primary Teacher (PRT) – Social Science who can make learning meaningful and engaging for young learners while building a strong foundation in Environmental Studies (EVS), Social Studies, Civic Values, Geography, History, and General Awareness.
Position Summary
The PRT Social Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching Social Science / EVS subjects to primary school students through activity-based, experiential, and competency-based learning approaches as prescribed by CBSE and NEP 2020. The teacher will foster curiosity, observation skills, environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and an understanding of the world around them.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Teach Environmental Studies (EVS) and Social Science concepts to Classes III to V.
- Prepare annual pedagogical plans, lesson plans, worksheets, projects, and assessments.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons using innovative teaching methodologies.
- Integrate real-life examples and local community experiences into classroom learning.
- Promote inquiry-based and experiential learning.
- Encourage students to observe, question, investigate, and analyze their surroundings.
- Develop foundational knowledge of geography, history, civics, culture, environment, and community life.
- Use maps, charts, models, audiovisual aids, and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Complete the prescribed syllabus within academic timelines.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct periodic assessments, class tests, projects, assignments, and oral evaluations.
- Prepare competency-based assessment tools aligned with CBSE guidelines.
- Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and academic performance.
- Identify learning gaps and implement remedial measures.
- Support students requiring additional academic assistance.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
- Foster discipline through positive reinforcement and student engagement.
- Encourage collaborative learning and teamwork.
- Promote respect for diversity, culture, heritage, and social values.
- Ensure active participation of every student during classroom activities.
Student Development
- Encourage critical thinking, observation, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Develop awareness regarding environmental conservation and sustainable living.
- Promote civic sense, social responsibility, and ethical values.
- Encourage participation in exhibitions, social science projects, quizzes, and awareness campaigns.
- Support holistic development through co-curricular and experiential activities.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Participate actively in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Provide guidance to parents regarding student learning and development.
- Share academic progress and improvement strategies when necessary.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in assemblies, celebrations, exhibitions, educational visits, and school events.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and interdisciplinary activities.
- Assist in organizing national festivals, awareness campaigns, and special observance days.
- Support school admission activities and orientation programs when required.
- Perform examination and administrative duties assigned by the school.

QualificationsEssential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Social Science, Humanities, Geography, History, Political Science, Sociology, or related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) qualified.
- Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum and competency-based learning.
- Additional certifications in child psychology, experiential learning, or educational technology will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE or reputed school.
- Experience teaching EVS or Social Science at the Primary Level is preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills and strong subject knowledge may also apply.
