Position: VMC / HMC Setter (Vertical Machining Center / Horizontal Machining Center)
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Machine Setup
- Set up VMC/HMC machines as per production plans and process sheets.
- Install and align fixtures, jigs, vises, and workholding devices.
- Load and set cutting tools in the machine magazine.
- Set tool offsets and work offsets accurately.
2. Program Management
- Load CNC programs into the machine.
- Verify program sequence and machining operations.
- Perform trial runs and make necessary offset corrections.
- Support production teams with minor program modifications when required.
3. Production Support
- Ensure machines are ready for production with minimum setup time.
- Coordinate with operators during shift changes.
- Achieve production targets while maintaining cycle time requirements.
4. Quality Assurance
- Interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and specifications.
- Conduct first-off inspection before releasing the job for production.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and Dial Indicator.
- Ensure components meet dimensional and quality requirements.
5. Tool Management
- Monitor tool condition and tool life.
- Replace worn-out or damaged tools.
- Maintain proper tool inventory and tooling records.
6. Troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve machining issues such as dimensional variation, tool breakage, and fixture-related problems.
- Analyze root causes of defects and implement corrective actions.
7. Preventive Maintenance
- Perform daily machine checks and cleaning.
- Monitor coolant, lubrication, and air pressure systems.
- Report machine abnormalities and breakdowns to maintenance personnel.
8. Safety & 5S
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness as per 5S standards.
- Ensure safe handling of tools, fixtures, and machined components.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of VMC/HMC machine setup and operation.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and CNC programs.
- Understanding of GD&T and machining processes.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling selection.
- Proficiency in precision measuring instruments.
Pay: ₹13,360.53 - ₹35,232.31 per month
