- Monitor and track healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
- Collect, analyze, and interpret infection data and trends.
- Conduct outbreak investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain infection surveillance databases and reports.
Infection Prevention and Control
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to standard precautions and transmission-based precautions.
- Monitor hand hygiene compliance and environmental cleanliness.
- Recommend measures to reduce infection risks.
Education and Training
- Provide infection control education to healthcare workers, patients, and visitors.
- Conduct orientation and ongoing training programs.
- Promote awareness of infection prevention best practices.
Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.
- Perform audits of clinical practices and infection control measures.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with national and local infection control regulations.
- Prepare reports for accreditation and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain documentation required by healthcare authorities.
Consultation and Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel, and environmental services staff.
- Provide expert advice on infection prevention strategies.
- Participate in infection control committee meetings.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Specialized training in infection prevention and control.
- Certification in infection control (such as CIC) preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of clinical nursing experience.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, and infectious diseases.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
