Qualification
- Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. (Chemistry)
- Candidates with experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, impurity, or reference standard manufacturing will be preferred.
- Freshers with strong knowledge of chemicals and laboratory materials may also apply.
Job Description
- Source and procure intermediates, impurities, reference standards, solvents, reagents, laboratory chemicals, consumables, and other raw materials required for R&D and manufacturing.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new domestic and international suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and uninterrupted supply.
- Obtain quotations from vendors, prepare comparative statements, negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules, and finalize purchases with management approval.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely order placement.
- Follow up with suppliers and transporters to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Stores, and Accounts for procurement planning and smooth material flow.
- Arrange and maintain vendor qualification documents, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Certificates of Analysis (COA), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), specifications, and other required technical documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance with respect to quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate the return, replacement, or rejection of non-conforming materials with suppliers.
- Ensure timely Goods Receipt Note (GRN) processing and coordinate with the Accounts team for vendor payment clearance.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor database, and purchase documentation.
- Track market trends, identify alternate suppliers, and support cost optimization while ensuring uninterrupted material availability.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory chemicals, intermediates, impurities, reference standards, solvents, reagents, and laboratory consumables.
- Strong vendor sourcing, supplier development, and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical, communication, and documentation abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement activities and meet delivery timelines.
