About the Role
Orange Health Labs is looking for an experienced Lab Technician to join our Hyderabad laboratory team. This position is suited for professionals who have strong practical exposure to diagnostic testing and are comfortable handling routine laboratory operations independently.
You will play an important role in ensuring that patient samples are processed correctly, tests are completed within defined timelines, and results meet the required quality standards.
Your Day-to-Day Work
- Receive, identify, and process samples while ensuring correct sample handling and documentation.
- Perform routine and specialized testing across Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Work on automated analyzers as well as perform manual laboratory procedures.
- Review samples and test runs for accuracy before results are released.
- Run internal quality control procedures and take corrective action when required.
- Perform basic analyzer troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration activities.
- Monitor pending samples and prioritize work to maintain expected TAT.
- Maintain accurate records related to testing, QC, maintenance, and sample processing.
- Follow established SOPs, biosafety practices, and laboratory quality requirements.
- Coordinate with colleagues and relevant teams to resolve sample or testing-related issues.
- Contribute to process improvements and adoption of updated laboratory practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.
Who Can Apply?
We are looking for candidates who have:
- BMLT / DMLT / B.Sc. MLT or a relevant Medical Laboratory Technology qualification.
- 4–6 years of experience in a diagnostic laboratory environment.
- Practical knowledge of Biochemistry, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology.
- Experience handling automated diagnostic equipment and manual testing.
- Understanding of quality control, calibration, SOPs, and laboratory safety.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accurate reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple samples and tasks in a high-volume laboratory.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per operational requirements.
What You Will Be Accountable For
Primary Metric: Turnaround Time (TAT)
You will be expected to maintain efficient sample processing while ensuring that speed does not compromise testing accuracy or quality.
