This role focuses on driving sales of bandsaw and circular saw blades by providing strong technical support at customer sites. The engineer will work closely with customers to improve cutting performance, troubleshoot machine issues, and use this engagement to increase blade consumption and business growth. The position requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise and sales capability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support (Core Strength)
Visit customer sites to support bandsaw and circular saw machines
Check machine condition: alignment, vibration, guide setting, coolant flow, cutting accuracy
Troubleshoot cutting issues like blade breakage, poor finish, low blade life
Guide operators on correct usage, blade handling, and cutting parameters
2. Application Improvement
Recommend correct blade type, TPI, geometry based on material
Optimize cutting parameters (speed, feed, coolant)
Improve blade life and reduce cost per cut
Conduct trials and demonstrate performance improvement
3. Sales Conversion (Key Focus)
Convert technical visits into blade sales opportunities
Increase consumption at existing customers through performance improvement
Introduce premium blades and upgrade customers from local/low-cost options
Support dealers in closing technical sales
4. Customer Development
Handle key accounts like fabrication units, steel processors, auto ancillaries
Build strong relationships with production, maintenance, and purchase teams
Identify new customers and generate business
Product Scope
Bandsaw blades (bi-metal, carbide tipped, etc.)
Circular saw blades (TCT depending on application)
Key Requirements
Diploma / BE Mechanical/Electrical
3–8 years experience in bandsaw / circular saw / cutting tools
Strong hands-on knowledge of machine + application
Must have experience in improving blade performance at customer site
Sales-driven mindset
