Job Summary
Konnak Engineering Private Limited is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to lead Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities during the construction, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases of an industrial EPC project. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations, project requirements, client standards, and company policies while promoting a strong safety culture across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the Project HSE Management System.
- Develop and implement HSE procedures, plans, and safe work practices.
- Conduct site safety inspections and audits.
- Monitor contractor HSE performance and compliance.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Carry out risk assessments (JSA/JHA) and HIRA reviews.
- Review and approve Method Statements and Risk Assessments before work execution.
- Manage Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Ensure compliance with Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Monitor confined space entry activities.
- Monitor hot work, lifting operations, excavation, work at height, and electrical safety.
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare investigation reports.
- Maintain HSE statistics and monthly reports.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and first aid arrangements.
- Conduct HSE induction training for employees and contractors.
- Ensure environmental compliance including waste management, spill prevention, dust control, noise control, and housekeeping.
- Coordinate with client representatives, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities from an HSE perspective.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Science.
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of HSE experience in industrial EPC construction projects.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Chemical, Power, Renewable Energy, Cement, Steel, Water Treatment, or Process Plants is preferred.
