Job Title: Restaurant Steward
Department: Food & Beverage Service
Reports To: Restaurant Captain / Restaurant Supervisor / Restaurant Manager
Job Summary:
The Restaurant Steward is responsible for providing efficient and courteous food and beverage service to guests, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining cleanliness and service standards in the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages promptly according to hotel and restaurant service standards.
- Ensure tables are properly set up before service and cleared after guests leave.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant, service stations, and dining areas.
- Assist in setting up buffet counters and special events as required.
- Ensure proper handling of crockery, cutlery, glassware, and service equipment.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, complaints, and special needs.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service operations.
- Upsell menu items and promote special offers to guests whenever appropriate.
- Prepare bills and process guest payments accurately, if assigned.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and grooming standards.
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management is preferred.
- Minimum 0–2 years of experience in Food & Beverage Service in a hotel or restaurant.
- Freshers with relevant hospitality qualifications may also apply.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
