Job Title: Manager on Duty (MOD) - Hospital Job Summary: The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital, ensuring that all hospital activities run smoothly and efficiently. The MOD is the highest-ranking officer on duty during the designated shift and is responsible for making key decisions and taking prompt actions to maintain patient care, safety, and quality of services. Key Responsibilities: 1. Operation Managment: Manage the hospital's operations, Emergency, Security, House Keeping, Maintenance including patient, staff Managment and administrative tasks. 2. Operation Support: Provide guidance to the hospital staff, including doctors, nurses, and other support staff. 3. Emergency Response: Respond and attend to emergency codes such as Code Blue, fire or other crisis situations. 4. Communication: Maintain effective communication with hospital staff, patients, and families. 5. Safety and Security: Ensure that the hospital maintains a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. 6. Compliance: Ensure that the hospital complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Essential Skills: 7. Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills. 8. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 9. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions quickly. 10. Knowledge of Hospital Operations: Strong knowledge of hospital operations, including patient care, medical records, and billing. 11. Clinical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of medical procedures and terminology. 12. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions. Work Environment: The MOD will work in a fast-paced hospital environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The MOD will be required to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Duties: Handover to be taken from the Night MOD (Handover Book Available) Cab or Ambulance should be aligned by MOD (Camp, Home care services, Dialysis, Blood Bank, any emergency case pick up to be sent with Paramedical Staff) Admission cases need to be counselled with proper estimation and get it signed by patient's attender. Night Rounds to be done every 4 hours once's whole hospital and if in case any incident had occurred should be highlighted. Must get the room ready for the planned admission for the next day. Should have a presence of mind to manage the inter-department, and make sure the operation runs smoothly. On Sundays we need to check the vacant ready room and keep ready for admission. NEW POINTS Need to coordinate with all the departments for the smooth functioning of the hospital. Ensure HK/MAINTENANCE/SECURITY /AMBULANCE are alert . Need to send midnight census also morning census at 12 am and 8 am respectively. Ensure smooth admission and discharge /shifting process. Coordinate with local police in case of emergency also with fire dept in case of accidents of fire. Coordinate with outside lab for investigations also with other hospitals in case of shifting. Prepare report and send it across. Ensure patient gets estimate from billing dept. Ensure logistics of the staff in case of emergency . Ensure all the drugs and consumables available in the night for floors/ICU/OT and also the instruments. Follow the grooming standards.
