Role Overview
As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories team, the Lead – Accessories Product Development & Program Management will be responsible for driving end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) programs across Special Vehicle Programs (SPV), (NU) Platforms, Vehicle Accessories Programs (VAP), and Accessories. This role will lead cross-functional execution from concept to market launch, ensuring products are delivered on time, within cost targets, and in line with Mahindra’s quality and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Program Leadership
Lead New Product Development (NPD) programs across SPV, NU Platform, VAP, and Accessories portfolios.
Drive program execution from design to development through validation, industrialization, and market launch.
Product Roadmap & Portfolio Management
Own product roadmaps and development plans aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
Ensure clear prioritization of programs, resource allocation, and milestone tracking across multiple product lines.
BOM, Cost & Commercial Management
Own product BOM (Bill of Materials) development and management throughout the product lifecycle.
Drive achievement of cost targets through value engineering, supplier collaboration, and design optimization initiatives.
Monitor program budgets and proactively identify opportunities for cost improvement.
Timeline & Stage-Gate Management
Develop and manage detailed program timelines and launch plans.
Drive stage-gate reviews, ensuring program readiness, risk mitigation, and timely decision-making at each milestone.
Ensure product launches are executed on schedule with required quality and performance standards.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Lead coordination between Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Facilitate effective communication and issue resolution to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in New Product Development (NPD) processes.
Deep understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
Proven experience in BOM management and product lifecycle management.
Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
Education Qualification
Experience & Qualifications
8–10 years of experience in product development, program management, engineering, or automotive project management roles.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Product Engineering, or related discipline.
MBA or Project Management certification will be an advantage.
Experience working across vehicle platforms, accessories, VAP programs, or automotive product portfolios preferred.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex cross-functional product development programs.
