Summary – Manager – Government Business & GeM Strategy (AMEC Technology)
The Manager – Government Business & GeM Strategy is a leadership role focused on driving government sales through the GeM portal and other public procurement platforms. The position is responsible for identifying high-value government opportunities, building relationships with government buyers, managing the complete tender lifecycle, and generating significant business revenue for the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop government business opportunities through GeM, CPPP, Defence, PSUs, Railways, Smart Cities, Municipal Corporations, and other government procurement channels.
- Research upcoming tenders, procurement plans, competitors, and market intelligence.
- Build strong relationships with procurement officials, technical committees, consultants, EPC companies, and government agencies.
- Manage the complete GeM tender process, including bid qualification, technical documentation, compliance, commercial submissions, reverse auctions, and order finalization.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Product, Finance, Operations, and Management) to ensure successful bid execution.
- Drive government sales targets and secure high-value purchase orders.

Experience & Skills
- 3–10+ years of experience in Government Business Development.
- Strong expertise in GeM procurement, government tenders, bid management, reverse auctions, technical documentation, and public procurement.
- Proven experience handling tenders ranging from ₹50 lakh to ₹50+ crore.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, presentation, and business development skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- CTC: ₹7 LPA – ₹18 LPA (higher for exceptional candidates).
