ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Design, develop and maintain automated test suites across mobile (Appium/WebDriver IO for the Ionic/Capacitor app), web portal (Playwright) and backend API (pytest) layers – above the unit tests owned by developers
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and maintain stable, low-flakiness regression runs with clear result reporting
- Build and maintain API, integration and contract tests between services; validate authentication, role-based access and multi-tenant data isolation
- Support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and device-connectivity testing, including simulators or test harnesses for connection, reconnection, weak-signal and real-time data-streaming scenarios
- Perform functional, regression, cross-platform (iOS/Android) and basic non-functional (performance/load) testing
- Create and maintain test data, test environments and reusable test frameworks and utilities
- Log, reproduce, triage and track defects in Jira; manage test cases, executions and requirement traceability (User Need/URS → test case → result) in Xray
- Draft and maintain test plans, protocols and test reports supporting IEC 62304 software verification and the Design History File (DHF).
- Contribute to improving testing procedures, standards and automation coverage in collaboration with the R&D and Quality teams
- Collaborate with developers to improve testability and promote a shift-left, risk-based approach to quality
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in software test automation / QA engineering
- Practical experience with at least one web and one mobile or API automation framework (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Appium/Web driver IO, REST API testing)
- Working proficiency in scripting/programming with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Having an ISTQB Foundation Level certification is an added advantage
- Exposure to regulated, safety-critical, or quality-critical software development (e.g., medical devices, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, or similar standards) is an added advantage

- Sound understanding of test automation design, the test pyramid, and maintainable, reliable (non-flaky) test architecture
- Web UI automation (Playwright, Cypress or Selenium) and hybrid mobile automation (Appium/Web driverIO, including native/WebView context handling)
- API and backend testing: REST, pytest, Postman/Newman, and awareness of contract testing (e.g., Pact)
- Version control with Git and CI/CD pipeline integration; ability to run tests in headless and containerized (Docker) environments
- Test and defect management using Jira and Xray, including requirement traceability and coverage reporting
- Databases and SQL (PostgreSQL) for test-data setup, verification and validation
- Basic non-functional testing: performance/load (e.g., k6, JMeter, Locust) and awareness of security testing concepts (authentication, authorization, OWASP Top 10 basics)
- Familiarity with cloud and test-infrastructure basics (AWS) and log analysis for troubleshooting failures
- Awareness of BLE / IoT or device-integration testing concepts (desirable)
- Understanding of behaviour-driven development (BDD) and test reporting tools (e.g., Cucumber, Allure) (desirable)
- Awareness of software V&V documentation and IEC 62304 / ISO 13485 testing expectations (desirable)
