Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide IT support and ensure the smooth functioning of computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues within the organization. The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting abilities and be capable of delivering timely technical assistance to employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and connectivity problems.
- Manage user accounts, email configurations, and system access permissions.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
- Monitor and maintain IT assets and inventory records.
- Assist with network setup, Wi-Fi connectivity, and basic server-related tasks.
- Ensure data security, antivirus protection, and regular system updates.
- Respond to support tickets and resolve issues within defined timelines.
- Coordinate with vendors and external service providers when required.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and support activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and common business applications.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Understanding of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and network troubleshooting is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience in desktop support, IT support, or technical support preferred.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge and certifications may also apply.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Active Directory and user account management.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
