Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bicycle Technician to assemble new bicycles, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform repairs and maintenance. The ideal candidate is passionate about cycling, technically proficient, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble new bicycles according to manufacturer specifications
- Perform repairs and routine maintenance (brakes, gears, chains, drivetrains, wheels, suspension, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical and technical issues accurately
- Tune and adjust bicycles to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Replace defective parts and components
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop
- Keep records of repairs and parts used
- Provide customers with basic maintenance advice when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bicycle Technician or similar mechanical role
- Strong knowledge of bicycle components and repair techniques
- Ability to use bicycle repair tools and diagnostic equipment
- Understanding of gear systems, hydraulic disc brakes, suspension systems, and wheel truing
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized bicycle mechanic program
- Experience working in a bicycle shop
- Passion for cycling and knowledge of different bicycle types (road, MTB, hybrid, e-bikes)
- Knowledge of eBikes will be an added advantage
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs)
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts
