The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring safe and effective medication use, maintaining pharmacy inventory, and providing medication-related guidance to patients and healthcare professionals while complying with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medicines accurately according to doctors' prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Counsel patients on the proper use of medications, dosage, side effects, precautions, and storage.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure timely procurement of medicines.
- Monitor medicine expiry dates and remove expired or damaged stock.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for medicines, including temperature-sensitive items.
- Record and maintain pharmacy inventory, purchase, and dispensing registers.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication availability and substitutions when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy (B.Pharm / D.Pharm).
- Valid Pharmacist Registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred.
- Fresher Can be applied.
