About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, to manage financial records, reconciliations, and reporting accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Raise and process customer invoices.
- Allocate customer payments accurately.
- Follow up outstanding accounts and collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare aged debtor reports.
Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Prepare payment schedules and process payments.
- Maintain accurate records of all supplier transactions.
General Accounting
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Maintain financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end reporting.
- Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets.
- Ensure accuracy of data entry and accounting records.
- Work closely with the Finance team to meet reporting deadlines.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data analysis and reporting).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate IV, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Experience with accounting systems and financial reporting.
- Previous experience in an education or service-based organisation is an advantage.
Working Hours
- Monday to Saturday
- Must be available to work during Australian business hours.
