Architect – Design & Execution Lead
Location: Canacona, South Goa
Employment Type: Full-time, In-house
Work Environment: Office + Active Project Sites
Relocation: Mandatory
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on Architect to join our in-house design and execution team in South Goa.
This is not a conventional architecture-office role.
You will work closely with the Founder on multiple hospitality, residential, landscape and experimental construction projects across South Goa, converting ideas and concepts into practical, buildable and visually distinctive spaces.
The role requires someone who enjoys being equally comfortable with a sketchbook, CAD drawings, materials, contractors, fabricators and active construction sites.
We are particularly interested in architects who want to experiment with sustainable construction, alternative materials, modular systems and unconventional architectural ideas.
You should be someone who wants to build, not merely design.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Concept Development
- Work directly with the Founder to develop architectural concepts and spatial ideas.
- Translate sketches, references and conceptual ideas into practical architectural solutions.
- Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details and working drawings.
- Develop design options based on site conditions, budgets and execution constraints.
- Participate in master planning, architectural planning, interiors, landscape integration and site development.
- Develop designs that respond intelligently to the tropical and coastal conditions of Goa.
Design Development & Technical Coordination
- Convert concepts into detailed, construction-ready drawings.
- Coordinate with the Structural Engineer, CAD/BIM team, MEP consultants and site teams.
- Resolve architectural and structural coordination issues before execution.
- Prepare and review construction details, junctions, sections and material specifications.
- Maintain proper drawing revisions and ensure the site is always working with current drawings.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation.
Site Execution
A significant portion of this role will be site-based.
You will be expected to:
- Regularly visit and supervise project sites.
- Explain architectural intent and drawings to contractors and workers.
- Resolve design and execution issues directly on site.
- Coordinate with contractors, carpenters, welders, plumbers, electricians, fabricators and other trades.
- Check dimensions, levels, finishes and construction quality.
- Ensure the final execution remains faithful to the design.
- Identify problems early and develop practical solutions rather than allowing work to stop unnecessarily.
- Take ownership of projects from concept through execution.
Material Research & Innovation
We actively experiment with materials and construction techniques.
The Architect will be expected to research and explore:
- Bamboo
- Engineered timber
- FRP and composite materials
- Structural steel
- Modular construction
- Container-based architecture
- Lightweight structures
- Natural and biodegradable materials
- Reclaimed materials
- Local stone and laterite
- Alternative roofing and façade systems
- Coastal and corrosion-resistant construction techniques
You do not need to already be an expert in every material.
You do need to have the curiosity and technical discipline to learn.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Identify and coordinate with specialist vendors and fabricators.
- Obtain technical information and samples.
- Compare materials, systems and execution methods.
- Assist with quotations and material selection.
- Coordinate mock-ups and prototypes where required.
- Work closely with procurement and site teams.
What We Are Looking ForQualification

- COA registration preferred.

- Is comfortable working on active construction sites.
- Can communicate effectively with workers, contractors and specialist consultants.
- Has strong attention to detail.
- Thinks practically about how something will actually be built.
- Enjoys experimentation and problem-solving.
- Is curious about new materials and technologies.
- Is comfortable challenging conventional construction methods where better solutions exist.
- Can take ownership rather than waiting continuously for instructions.
- Can work in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
- Is comfortable working directly with the Founder.
- Is ambitious and wants substantially greater responsibility over time.
We particularly value people whose first response to an unusual architectural challenge is:

rather than:
"This is not normally done."
Career Opportunity
