The VMC Operator is responsible for operating Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to manufacture precision components as per engineering drawings while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate VMC machines as per production plan.
- Load and unload components safely.
- Set workpieces using fixtures, vices, clamps, and locating pins.
- Perform tool offset and wear offset adjustments.
- Change cutting tools as required.
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Dial Indicator.
- Inspect components during production to ensure quality.
- Maintain production records and inspection reports.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Keep the machine and work area clean (5S).
- Report machine problems, tool breakage, or quality issues to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use PPE.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of VMC machine operation.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments.
- Understanding of cutting tools and machining processes.
- Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code (preferred).
- Good attention to quality and accuracy.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
