Job Summary
The Instrumentation & Control Engineer is responsible for engineering, procurement coordination, documentation, installation, quality inspection, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, PLC, VFD, and control systems. The role ensures reliable operation, compliance with standards, and effective site management from office or remote locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and release specification sheets and datasheets for instrumentation and electrical items.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department during procurement of motors, PLC systems, field instruments, control panels, and MCC panels.
- Develop and finalize Process Logic Diagrams (PLD), I/O lists, PLC logic, PLC architecture, and PLC technical specifications.
- Perform quality inspection and testing of control panels, MCC panels, and field instruments before dispatch and installation.
- Read, understand, and interpret PLC controllers, control logic, and VFD drives.
- Configure and tune PID controller parameters and VFD drive settings as per process requirements.
- Supervise installation, loop checking, testing, and commissioning activities at various project sites.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve instrumentation and electrical-related issues during commissioning and site operation.
- Ensure quality compliance of instruments as per approved specifications, standards, and project requirements.
- Possess working knowledge of documentation and compliance requirements, including:
- Panel testing and inspection documents
- 21 CFR (Part 11) compliance documentation
- SCADA trend formats, reports, and data logging documentation
- Effectively manage and monitor project sites remotely from the office or any location through coordination, documentation review, and technical support.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, Electrical, or related discipline.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of industrial instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature, analyzers, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with PLC systems (Siemens / Allen Bradley / Schneider / Delta or similar)
- Experience with VFDs, PID control, MCC panels, and control panels
- Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, GA drawings
- Familiarity with installation, calibration, loop checking, and commissioning procedures
- Understanding of SCADA systems and industrial documentation standards
Pay: ₹228,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
