Operations Manager (Engineering Background)
Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly disciplined and experienced Operations Manager with an Ex-Defence or Engineering background to oversee end-to-end operations and logistics for our Alcobev business. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, process control, logistics expertise, and operational discipline to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities across production, bottling, supply chain, vendor coordination, and general operations.
- Manage and monitor operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely execution of all activities.
- Take an active role in bottling-line operations, including monitoring production activities, manpower, output, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Possess working knowledge of bottling-line machinery and equipment, including bottle rinsing machines, filling machines, capping machines, labelling machines, conveyors, batch coding machines, shrink-wrapping/cartoning equipment, and related systems.
- Coordinate with the production and technical teams for machine operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and minimizing production downtime.
- Have a basic understanding of distillery operations and alcohol manufacturing processes, including handling of raw materials, blending, filtration, storage, and transfer of alcoholic beverages.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of production, bottling, dispatch, procurement, and other operational activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to company SOPs, safety procedures, quality standards, and operational processes.
- Implement operational discipline, proper reporting structures, production/MIS reporting, and process-efficiency improvements.
- Monitor bottling-line performance, identify operational issues, and coordinate with relevant teams for quick resolution of breakdowns and production-related problems.
- Handle crisis management, contingency planning, and operational problem-solving to ensure minimum disruption to business activities.
- Maintain proper production records, bottling reports, inventory records, MIS reports, documentation, and operational records.
- Supervise, guide, and train support staff and operational teams, ensuring discipline, accountability, productivity, and high performance.
- Provide operational support to other departments and teams whenever required and assist management in resolving day-to-day operational challenges.
- Work closely with management to identify opportunities for cost reduction, productivity improvement, process optimization, and operational excellence.
- Take responsibility for ensuring that production, bottling, and supporting operations run efficiently and according to planned targets.
Candidate Profile:
- Retired Defence personnel (JCO/Senior NCO/Officer level preferred) or candidates with a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in operations, manufacturing, administration, or a similar operational role.
- Strong understanding of process-driven operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of operations.
- High integrity, strong leadership skills, discipline, and accountability.
- Prior experience in FMCG, beverage, manufacturing, or logistics-intensive environments will be an added advantage.
