Job Description – Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET)

Role Summary

The Senior QA Automation Engineer leads the development and execution of automated test scripts and automation frameworks while ensuring high software quality. The role involves a balanced mix of manual functional testing and automation script maintenance, providing technical guidance and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Perform functional and manual testing to validate software quality and application functionality.
Design, execute, and maintain test cases and test scenarios.
Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
Maintain automation scripts and troubleshoot/fix minor automation issues.
Support automation execution for Android or iOS applications.
Execute API automation tests using Karate framework.
Collaborate with developers, product teams, and QA engineers to resolve defects.
Verify bug fixes through regression and functional testing.
Contribute to test automation strategy and mentor junior QA engineers.
Ensure adherence to QA best practices and quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

8–11 years of overall experience in Software Testing with strong expertise in QA Automation.
Hands-on experience in Automation Testing.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- XCUITest (iOS Automation)
- Espresso (Android Automation)
- Karate Framework (API Automation)
Strong understanding of manual testing methodologies and functional testing.
Experience working with either Android or iOS automation workflows.
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain existing automation scripts.
Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and documentation skills.
