Position: Inventory Controller
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Manager
Industry: Beauty and Skincare - D2C Brand
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to oversee inventory-related activities, including stock management, inventory reconciliation, stock audits, and reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Tally ERP, inventory management of Raw Materials (RM) and Packing Materials (PM), GST, TDS, and bookkeeping.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of raw materials (RM), packing materials (PM), and finished goods (FG).
- Record inventory transactions accurately in the ERP system.
- Verify goods received from suppliers.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory.
2. Stock Reconciliation
- Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Maintain inventory accuracy at all times.
3. Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding stock movements.
- Monitor stock transfers between warehouses.
- Ensure proper batch tracking and product identification.
- Maintain stock registers and inventory documentation.
4. Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Analyze inventory turnover ratios.
- Monitor stock ageing reports.
- Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
5. Cost Control
- Monitor material consumption.
- Track inventory losses, damages, and returns.
- Support the preparation of cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) reports.
- Help optimize inventory carrying costs.
6. Statutory Compliance
- GST Knowledge is added advantage
- TDS Knowledge is added advantage
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Expertise in Raw Material (RM) and Packing Material (PM) and Inventory management
- Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Tally Prime or ERP systems
- Data analysis
- Stock reconciliation
- Communication skills
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Attention to detail
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel
- Knowledge of Tally Prime, ERP software, SAP, or Unicommerce is an advantage
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Accounts & Finance.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or inventory-driven industries is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in managing RM & PM inventory accounting is mandatory.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
