Primary Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data engineering solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Snowflake across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, batch and near real time data processing workflows

Establish, refine, and integrate development, CI/CD, orchestration, and monitoring tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Airflow, Databricks Jobs)

Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust data architecture and technical designs

Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and compliance, especially for healthcare data

Support production systems, participate in on call/application support, and handle critical incidents when required

Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and platform modernization

Generative AI & Advanced Techniques: Learn and apply GenAI building blocks such as RAG and prompt orchestration tools (e.g., LangChain); exposure to vector databases is a plus

Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with emphasis on responsible use of AI

Software Engineering & APIs: Contribute to building and testing APIs (e.g., REST with FastAPI) and learn delivery fundamentals such as containers (Docker) and simple app frameworks (e.g., Flask/Streamlit) as needed

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science/ data Engineer / AI/ML / Data Science, or related field

4+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Data Lake implementations

Solid hands-on experience with:

Python and PySpark

Azure Databricks & Azure Data Factory

Advanced SQL

Proven experience designing and implementing Data Lakes / Lakehouse architecture on Azure Cloud

Healthcare domain experience with solid understanding of data sensitivity, compliance, and regulatory requirements

Solid experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and propose end-to-end data architecture solutions

Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD practices, and DevOps for data platforms
-
Proven excellent analytical, problem solving, and performance tuning skills, with the ability to bring innovative solutions that add business value
