We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter with 5+ years of hands-on experience in setting up and operating CNC machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for machine setup, tool setting, program verification, quality inspection, and ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC Turning and/or CNC Machining Center (VMC/HMC) machines for production.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets.
- Install and align fixtures, tools, and workpieces.
- Load, verify, and make minor edits to CNC programs as required.
- Perform first-off inspection and obtain quality approval before production.
- Monitor machining processes and make necessary tool offset corrections.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Change tools, inserts, and fixtures as required to maintain production.
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Follow 5S, safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain production and inspection records.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNC Setter.
- Strong knowledge of CNC Turning and/or VMC/HMC setup.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Good understanding of cutting tools, tool offsets, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Haas CNC controls.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certification in CNC machining is an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, precision engineering, or heavy engineering industries.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and TPM practices.
