About the Role
The Equity Research Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth fundamental research
and analysis of companies and sectors to generate actionable investment ideas. The role
involves close collaboration with Fund Managers to support active stock selection and
portfolio construction. The Analyst will build detailed financial models, track industry trends,
engage with company management, and provide data-driven insights that align with our
investment framework to drive alpha generation.
Must Haves
- Candidates with 2-5 years of experience in equity research, either on the buy-side
or sell-side, are preferred.
- Academic qualifications:
- MBA (Finance) from a premier institute, Chartered Accountant (CA), or CFA
(Charterholder or Level II/III candidate) is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, relative
valuation), and analyzing complex financial statements.
- Deep understanding of macroeconomic drivers, market dynamics, and
industry-specific KPIs.
- Ability to communicate complex investment ideas clearly and concisely, both in
written research reports and verbal presentations, demonstrating high conviction
and independent thinking.
What We Expect From You
- Conduct comprehensive bottom-up fundamental research on assigned sectors and
companies to identify high-conviction investment opportunities that align with the
fund's mandate.
- Build and continuously update dynamic financial models, earnings forecasts, and
valuation sheets for companies under coverage.
- Regularly track and analyze sector trends, quarterly earnings, corporate
announcements, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic developments.
- Prepare detailed investment notes, research reports, and presentation decks for the
Fund Management team and the Investment Committee.
- Actively engage with company management teams, sell-side analysts, channel
partners, and industry experts to gain deeper business insights and validate
research hypotheses.
- Support Fund Managers in ongoing portfolio monitoring, evaluating risk-reward
metrics, and assessing the fundamental impact of market events on portfolio
holdings.
- Ensure high standards of professional conduct, strict adherence to the internal
research framework, and compliance with all regulatory and ethical guidelines.
