We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Purchase Executive to manage the sourcing, procurement, and inventory management of raw materials and hardware required for our high-volume modular office furniture manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in the interior or furniture manufacturing industry, holding a deep understanding of materials like BWR/BWP plywood, MDF, particle boards, laminates, powder-coating materials, and functional hardware (e.g., channels, hinges, wire managers, understructure frames). You will balance cost optimization, strict quality control, and timely delivery to ensure our factory assembly lines operate without interruption.Key Responsibilities
- Material Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and source top-tier local and international suppliers for raw materials, wood panels, decorative surfaces, adhesives, edge-banding tapes, and specialized office furniture hardware.
- Vendor Management & Negotiation: Renegotiate pricing, flexible credit/payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and tight delivery timelines with vendors to maximize profitability without compromising on quality standards.
- Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) alongside the production and design teams to accurately forecast and plan material procurement cycles for custom enterprise projects and standard inventory lines.
- Purchase Order (PO) Processing: Create, verify, and issue exact Purchase Orders through our internal ERP/SAP software, keeping tracking systems regularly updated.
- Quality Assurance Coordination: Work alongside our QA/QC team to verify incoming raw material shipments match order specifications, quickly resolving supply defects, shortages, or delivery discrepancies directly with vendors.
- Inventory Control & Warehousing: Monitor raw material stock levels to balance optimal storage safety thresholds against holding costs, avoiding stockouts for fast-moving components.
- Billing & Document Management: Validate supplier invoices against delivery notes and purchase orders, coordinating with the Finance/Accounts department for smooth, on-time vendor payouts.
- Market Research & Innovation: Monitor evolving industry trends to find cost-effective alternative raw materials, innovative functional hardware, and more reliable backup suppliers.
Required Skills and Experience
- Industry Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of proven procurement experience specifically in modular furniture manufacturing, kitchen manufacturing, or the commercial interior fit-out industry.
- Technical Product Knowledge: Strong familiarity with particle board, MDF, laminates, veneers, acoustic panels, aluminum extrusions, and hardware brands (e.g., Hettich, Hafele, Ebco, Blum).
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with ERP platforms (such as SAP, Tally Prime, or Oracle) and strong execution skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Commercial Acumen: Robust understanding of procurement logistics, supply chain pathways, taxation framework (GST/Customs), and vendor evaluation metrics.
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to independently secure advantageous deals and navigate stressful high-volume project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Certification: A professional diploma or certification in Procurement, Materials Management, or Supply Chain is highly preferred but not mandatory.
