Job Summary
The OT Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre complex. The role involves managing OT staff, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, maintaining patient safety standards, coordinating surgical schedules, managing OT inventory and equipment, and ensuring efficient utilization of OT resources.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of all Operation Theatres.
- Ensure smooth scheduling and coordination of elective and emergency surgeries.
- Monitor OT utilization and optimize theatre efficiency.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, CSSD, and support services.
- Ensure timely availability of OT supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Staff Management
- Supervise OT Nurses, OT Technicians, OT Assistants, and OT Clerks.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage manpower allocation.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Identify training needs and organize skill development programs.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and professional conduct standards.
Quality & Patient Safety
- Ensure compliance with NABH, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Monitor implementation of surgical safety checklists and time-out procedures.
- Conduct regular audits of OT practices and documentation.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and adverse events and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal practices.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor stock levels of surgical consumables, implants, and medicines.
- Coordinate procurement and replenishment of OT supplies.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration of OT equipment.
- Maintain records of equipment breakdowns and service activities.
- Coordinate with the Biomedical Department for equipment maintenance.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate OT records, surgery registers, and patient documentation.
- Maintain departmental reports and performance indicators.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports on OT utilization, infection rates, and resource consumption.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and accreditation requirements.
Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between surgeons, anesthetists, nursing teams, and administration.
- Address operational issues and resolve interdepartmental concerns.
- Participate in hospital quality meetings and operational reviews.
- Support emergency preparedness and disaster management activities.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
