TICKETING JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
The Ticketing Agent is responsible for verifying airline reservations, issuing tickets, processing reissues, and ensuring all booking and fare details are accurate. The role involves managing ticketing deadlines, supporting booking agents with fare-related queries, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring accurate billing records while delivering efficient and timely service.
Key Responsibilities
- Review incoming reservations to ensure bookings are made using valid airline fares
- Verify booking details and ensure required information is entered accurately
- Monitor and follow up on bookings pending ticketing or review
- Manage GDS queues and issue tickets within timelines
- Process ticket reissues based on booking changes
- Assist booking agents with fare-related queries and suitable fare options
- Prepare and dispatch accurate ticket documentation
- Ensure billing records are updated accurately for all issued tickets
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Diploma or certification in Travel & Tourism, Airline Ticketing, or related field will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of airline ticketing and fare rules
- Proficiency in GDS systems (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, etc.)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in bookings and ticketing
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple bookings
- Problem-solving and fare verification skills
- Time management and organizational skills
