The Sr. Engineer – Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and validating electronic devices and assemblies to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction.
The role supports the repair and refurbishment operations by conducting component-level analysis, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring timely turnaround of repaired products. The incumbent will contribute towards improving repair efficiency, reducing repeat failures, and supporting continuous process improvements.

Major Areas of Contribution:
1. Strategic Contribution:
- Maintain knowledge and practice of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety and 5S workplace methodology.
- Understand and interpret testing logs for effective fault analysis.
- Perform load testing of power supplies to ensure stability and performance.
- Understand block diagrams and functional flow of SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) systems.
- Identify, document, and track defects or inconsistencies in product functionality for continuous improvement.
- Possess basic knowledge of electronics PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) and circuit block diagrams.
2. Functional Contribution:
- Understand active and passive components and their different package types.
- Operate and use testing tools such as multimeters and CRO (oscilloscope).
- Interpret schematics, signal flow diagrams, RBOM (Reference Bill of Materials), and board view files.
- Perform hands-on soldering and desoldering of through-hole and SMT (Surface Mount Technology) components, including ICs and diodes.
Success Indicators in First 6 Months
- Successfully diagnose and repair assigned products independently while meeting defined productivity and turnaround time (TAT) targets.
- Achieve high First-Time-Right (FTR) repair performance with minimal repeat failures and rework cases.
- Demonstrate proficiency in component-level troubleshooting, schematic reading, SMT rework, and use of diagnostic equipment.
- Consistently adhere to ESD, safety, quality standards, and repair documentation requirements with zero major compliance deviations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying recurring failure trends and recommending corrective actions to improve repair efficiency and product reliability.
Ideal Candidate Background
1. Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Hardware Engineering or related discipline.
2. 2–4 years of experience in electronics repair, refurbishment, or service operations.
