Position Summary
The Mould Executive – Production is responsible for the inspection, verification, maintenance, inventory management, and production readiness of all moulds used in manufacturing operations. The role ensures that new and existing moulds meet quality standards, machine compatibility requirements, and production specifications before being released for production.
The position plays a critical role in minimizing production downtime, maintaining mould quality, ensuring smooth production operations, and supporting new product development activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Mould Receipt & Inspection
- Receive moulds from vendors, development teams, and tool rooms.
- Verify mould specifications against approved drawings and sample moulds.
- Conduct detailed inspections for dimensional accuracy, cavity quality, engraving, finishing, and structural integrity.
- Identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.
2. Mould Size Verification
- Verify complete size sets for newly developed products.
- Check grading accuracy across all mould sizes.
- Ensure dimensional consistency and proper fitting standards.
- Maintain approval records and inspection documentation.
3. Sole Injection Mould Validation
- Inspect moulds used for EVA, PVC, TPR, TPU, Rubber, and PU sole manufacturing.
- Verify:
- Sole dimensions
- Cavity accuracy
- Surface finish
- Venting systems
- Cooling channels
- Ejection mechanisms
- Ensure moulds comply with production and quality requirements.
4. Machine Compatibility & Mould Assembly
- Verify mould assembly according to machine specifications.
- Ensure proper mounting, alignment, locking, and fitting on injection moulding machines.
- Coordinate with Production and Maintenance teams during setup activities.
- Support safe and efficient machine operations.
5. Trial Production & Mould Approval
- Conduct trial runs for new moulds and newly developed products.
- Evaluate output quality against approved standards.
- Identify mould-related defects and implement corrective actions.
- Approve moulds for mass production after successful validation.
6. Mould Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of mould inventory.
- Track mould location, usage history, maintenance status, and availability.
- Monitor mould issuance and return processes.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and preservation of moulds.
7. Preventive Maintenance Coordination
- Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate mould repairs, modifications, and refurbishment activities.
- Ensure timely maintenance to avoid production interruptions.
- Maintain maintenance records and service history.
8. Vendor & Development Coordination
- Coordinate with mould manufacturers and vendors regarding corrections and modifications.
- Support product development teams during new product launches.
- Ensure moulds meet technical, quality, and production requirements before acceptance.
9. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain and update:
- Mould Inspection Reports
- Trial Reports
- Mould Approval Records
- Maintenance Logs
- Inventory Registers
Prepare and submit:
- Daily Reports
- Weekly Reports
- Monthly MIS Reports
- Production Readiness Reports
Education :
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience Required
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in:
- Footwear Manufacturing
- Injection Moulding Operations
- EVA, PVC, TPR, TPU, Rubber, or PU Sole Manufacturing
- Mould Inspection & Maintenance
- Production Support Functions
