Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and result-oriented Pilger Engineer to manage and optimize pilger mill operations for seamless tube and pipe manufacturing. The role focuses on achieving consistent product quality, improving process efficiency, and ensuring smooth machine performance in line with production targets and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and supervise pilger mill operations for seamless tube/pipe production
- Set up and optimize process parameters, tooling (dies, mandrels), and machine settings
- Ensure products meet dimensional tolerances, surface finish, and quality requirements
- Monitor and control reduction ratios, feed rates, and rolling parameters
- Analyze production data and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce defects
- Troubleshoot issues related to tube defects, tooling wear, and machine performance
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams for efficient operations
- Ensure correct tooling selection, alignment, and preventive maintenance
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and process documentation
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, SOPs, and safety regulations
- Support new product development, trials, and process validation activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and output
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of pilgering process and cold tube rolling techniques
- Understanding of tooling systems (dies, mandrels) and process parameters
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge of material behavior and metallurgy during cold working
- Problem-solving skills for process optimization and machine troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of quality control and inspection practices
- Good communication, coordination, and teamwork skills
Pay: ₹319,133.77 - ₹1,409,392.69 per year
