Job Designation: Electrician cum Sound Operator
Job Summary: Responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio-visual and electrical systems in classrooms, seminar halls, and auditoriums. Ensures smooth functioning of sound systems, projectors, lighting, and related equipment, while providing technical support for events and academic activities. Performs preventive maintenance, manages AV inventory, ensures compliance with safety standards, and reports daily operations to the Maintenance Head.

- Operate and troubleshoot issues related to microphones, speakers, mixers, amplifiers installed in classrooms and Auditoriums.
- Check the sound systems in classrooms, seminar halls, and auditoriums.
- Ensure seamless functioning of projectors, screens, and digital walls.
- Conduct sound checks and troubleshoot technical issues and resolve the same.
- Carry out routine maintenance and timely repair of sound systems, projectors, lighting, wiring, and auditorium equipment.
- Replace batteries/cells of microphones and other portable devices as required.
- Ensure the control panel, lighting system, and electrical connections are in good working condition.
- Maintain the auditorium infrastructure including chairs, curtains, and other fixtures to ensure readiness for events.
- Provide technical support for internal and external events, including conferences, guest lectures, and cultural programs.
- Coordinate with faculty, staff, and event organizers to understand requirements and deliver reliable AV solutions.
- Maintain an inventory of audio-visual equipment and ensure timely procurement of spares and consumables.
- Adhere to electrical and safety standards while handling and maintaining equipment.
- Report and resolve potential hazards related to sound and lighting equipment.
- Maintain proper documentation of service schedules, maintenance records, and equipment usage.

Educational Qualification
Professional Certifications
Certification in Sound Engineering, Audio-Visual Technology, Electrical Maintenance, or related technical field (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting sound systems, PA systems, projectors, lighting, and other audio-visual equipment. Experience in providing technical support for events, auditorium maintenance, and basic electrical repairs.
Hands-on experience in managing sound systems, PA systems, and AV equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in technical operations.
Knowledge of auditorium maintenance including lighting, wiring, and fixtures.
Ability to work under pressure during live events and ensure seamless delivery.
Good communication and coordination skills with staff and event teams.
Maintain and support Sound issues related to Mic, speakers, amplifiers and any other A/V related equipment’s, in the classrooms.
Report the day-to-day functions/operations to Maintenance head.
