Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced SMO Trainer for our skill development centre in Una. The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of sewing machine operations, garment construction, embroidery techniques, handicrafts, and creative product development. Experience in training candidates under skill development projects will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training in Sewing Machine Operator (SMO) trade as per industry requirements.
- Train candidates in stitching, garment construction, alteration, finishing, and quality standards.
- Provide hands-on training in various embroidery techniques, fabric embellishments, and decorative work.
- Conduct handicraft and creative product-making activities using fabric and locally available materials.
- Guide trainees in developing marketable products for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
- Maintain training records, attendance, assessments, and progress reports.
- Support placement, self-employment, and livelihood initiatives for trainees.
- Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of machines, tools, and training resources.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant certification in SMO, Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in tailoring, garment production, boutique operations, or training.
- Strong knowledge of the fashion and apparel industry.
- Practical experience in different types of embroidery and fabric decoration techniques.
- Good knowledge of handicrafts, creative products, and livelihood-oriented activities.
- Ability to conduct practical sessions and engage trainees effectively.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in the Skill Development sector.
- Experience working with women-centric livelihood or self-employment programs.
- Experience in boutique management, garment production units, or handicraft-based enterprises.
Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
