As a Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex conveyance projects, leading engineering teams, managing technical delivery, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across planning, modelling, and detailed design assignments.
Role Outline / Responsibilities
As a Lead Engineer – Conveyance, you will provide day-to-day technical leadership for water and wastewater network projects and support multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
Key Duties
- Lead the planning, modelling, and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Perform and review hydraulic analyses for water and wastewater networks.
- Lead development and review of:
- Network layouts and system configurations
- Pipeline sizing calculations
- Hydraulic profiles
- Pumping and rising main assessments
- Technical reports and design documentation
- Support master planning studies including:
- Demand forecasting
- Load assessment
- Capacity assessment
- Network expansion planning
- Undertake network optioneering and evaluate alternative solutions based on technical, operational, and whole-life cost considerations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including treatment, civil, mechanical, electrical, BIM, and GIS disciplines.
- Review engineering calculations, drawings, and reports prepared by team members.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, client specifications, and applicable design standards.
- Support project managers in planning, monitoring, and delivering project tasks within agreed schedules and budgets.
- Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and design reviews.
- Contribute to technical proposals, fee estimates, and bid submissions.
- Identify project risks and support mitigation planning.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Support implementation of digital delivery and BIM-enabled workflows.
