As a Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering complex conveyance projects, leading engineering teams, managing technical delivery, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across planning, modelling, and detailed design assignments.
Role Outline / Responsibilities
As a Lead Engineer – Conveyance , you will provide day-to-day technical leadership for water and wastewater network projects and support multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
Key Duties
Lead the planning, modelling, and design of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Perform and review hydraulic analyses for water and wastewater networks.
Lead development and review of:
Network layouts and system configurations
Pipeline sizing calculations
Hydraulic profiles
Pumping and rising main assessments
Technical reports and design documentation
Support master planning studies including:
Demand forecasting
Load assessment
Capacity assessment
Network expansion planning
Undertake network optioneering and evaluate alternative solutions based on technical, operational, and whole-life cost considerations.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including treatment, civil, mechanical, electrical, BIM, and GIS disciplines.
Review engineering calculations, drawings, and reports prepared by team members.
Ensure compliance with project requirements, client specifications, and applicable design standards.
Support project managers in planning, monitoring, and delivering project tasks within agreed schedules and budgets.
Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and design reviews.
Contribute to technical proposals, fee estimates, and bid submissions.
Identify project risks and support mitigation planning.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Support implementation of digital delivery and BIM-enabled workflows.

Here's what you'll need
Qualifications & Experience
12+ years of experience in water and wastewater conveyance planning and design.
Proven experience in hydraulic modelling and network design.
Strong understanding of:
Water distribution systems
Wastewater collection systems
Pump stations and rising mains
Network optimization principles
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Experience reviewing technical deliverables and providing technical direction to project teams.
Experience in client interactions and technical presentations.
Familiarity with BIM-enabled project delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Experience on international infrastructure projects.
Preferred
Master's Degree in Water Resources, Hydraulic, or Environmental Engineering.
