Writing isn’t theonly part of the job.
Do you actively collect ideas, observations, ads, headlines, and references or do you wait for inspiration to show up before a task that may seem different from the usual ones?
Do you study/observe aspects of people, culture, psychology, and communication?Do you like to keep up with pop culture?
Do you come up with ideas better than something ChatGPT could generate in 30 seconds?
Can you look at a brand and know what it should sound like?
Can you turn a messy business problem into a clear creative direction?
Can you build ideas that designers, editors, writers, and clients can rally behind?
Can you push a designer when the visual isn't working?
Can you work with ambiguity instead of waiting for perfect briefs?
Can you create five strong concepts in 30 minutes from a vague one-line brief?
Can you lead without ego, take feedback without defensiveness, and still protect the quality of the work?
Can you think like a strategist, write like a copywriter, judge like a creative director, and move like an owner?
