Key Responsibilities
- Staff Supervision: Scheduling shifts, monitoring the floor, and providing ongoing coaching to frontline cashiers.
- Cash Management: Balancing drawers, processing end-of-day reconciliations, managing safe drops, and ensuring adequate cash availability at all registers.
- Customer Escalations: Resolving complex customer complaints, handling refunds, and managing difficult checkout situations.
- Loss Prevention: Monitoring point-of-sale (POS) systems, identifying discrepancies, and assisting store management in minimizing inventory shrinkage.
- Store Operations: Assisting with general tasks such as merchandising, stocking, or stepping into a cashier role during peak hours.
Essential Skills
- Mathematics: Strong numerical skills to rapidly and accurately audit cash flow.
- Conflict Resolution: Calm and professional demeanor when dealing with frustrated or unsatisfied customers.
- Tech-Savviness: Proficiency with POS systems, digital payments (UPI, credit/debit), and inventory software.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate, train, and guide a team of cashiers.
Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 1 to 3+ years of experience as a cashier or in customer service, with previous leadership or supervisory experience being highly beneficial.
