Job Summary
The IGCSE French Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging French language lessons in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. The teacher will develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while fostering an appreciation of French language and culture. The role includes assessment, classroom management, and contributing to the overall academic success of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality French lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Develop students' proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching resources, assignments, and assessments.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE French examinations.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse students.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Integrate technology and interactive teaching strategies into lessons.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
- Contribute to language clubs, cultural events, exchange programs, and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in French, French Language, Foreign Languages, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
- Cambridge IGCSE teaching certification/training is an added advantage.
- DELF/DALF certification is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in French, preferably within the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE examinations is preferred.
- International school experience will be an advantage.
