Core responsibilities
- Project planning and management: Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage resources and contracts.
- Team and stakeholder coordination: Supervise project teams, coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and facilitate communication among all stakeholders.
- Execution and monitoring: Oversee daily site activities, conduct regular site inspections, and monitor progress to ensure the project is on track and meets all requirements.
- Quality and safety: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Budget and procurement: Manage project budgets, control costs, handle change orders, and oversee the procurement process, including bid evaluations and contract negotiations.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to clients and other stakeholders.
- Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical issues, design discrepancies, and other project-related problems.
Essential qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with technical knowledge of civil engineering and construction.
