Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPM), Automation Systems, Assembly Fixtures, Jigs, and Industrial Equipment. The candidate will be responsible for conceptual design, detailed engineering, customer interaction, and supporting project execution from design to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop SPMs, automation equipment, assembly stations, fixtures, and material handling systems.
- Prepare 3D models, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
- Perform machine design calculations and component selection.
- Develop concepts based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with project, manufacturing, assembly, and procurement teams.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and design changes.
- Ensure designs comply with quality, safety, and industry standards.
- Conduct design reviews and technical discussions with customers.
- Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
- Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.
- Prepare technical documentation and project reports.
- Mentor junior design engineers and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design and Machine Design.
- Experience in SPM and Industrial Automation projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as:
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- Creo
- CATIA (preferred)
- Knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Motion Systems.
- Experience in GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up, and Design Standards.
- BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and project coordination abilities.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Diploma with relevant experience may also be considered.
