Job Overview
We are looking for a qualified and compassionate Special Educator / Counselor to support students with diverse learning, developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs. The candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with learning and developmental needs.
- Identify students who may require additional academic, behavioral, or emotional support.
- Develop and implement appropriate intervention and support strategies.
- Work closely with teachers to support students in the classroom.
- Conduct counseling and guidance sessions for students as required.
- Maintain student records, progress reports, and intervention documentation.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and support requirements.
- Coordinate with teachers and school leadership to develop appropriate support plans.
- Monitor students' progress and make recommendations when required.
- Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and other school activities as required.
Requirements
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Special Education qualification/certification will be an advantage.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Education, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in a school, educational institution, or similar setting preferred.
- Good understanding of learning difficulties, developmental needs, and student support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, patient, and approachable personality.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and school management.
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of individualized education/support plans.
- Basic understanding of behavioral and learning interventions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents.
