Role:
The Sales Manager – Corporate Events & Activations is responsible for identifying and securing new corporate clients, nurturing existing accounts, and driving revenue growth for EMPL's events and experiential offerings.
You will own the full sales cycle — prospecting, qualifying, pitching, proposal development, negotiation, and closure — with our creative and operations teams behind you to translate client needs into winning concepts.
What You Will Do:
- Generate new business through outreach, referrals, networking, and industry events across our key verticals (BFSI, Auto, Pharma, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Government/PSU)
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline — from first call to signed contract — with accurate forecasting and reporting
- Pitch EMPL's capabilities to marketing heads, brand managers, procurement, and admin teams
- Prepare proposals and presentations in collaboration with our creative and strategy teams
- Lead commercial negotiations and close deals in line with business targets and agreed margins
- Grow key accounts through cross-selling and long-term relationship building — turn one-time projects into lasting partnerships
- Track sales performance and maintain records of leads, meetings, proposals, and revenue forecasts
- Represent EMPL at industry forums, exhibitions, and client events
What we are looking for:
- 3–5 years of Sales/BD experience in the events industry ONLY — corporate events, activations, exhibitions, or experiential marketing (this is essential)
- Strong prospecting, lead qualification, proposal development, and contract negotiation skills
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- An existing network in the Mumbai corporate market, or agency-side experience working with corporate clients, is a strong advantage
- Solid understanding of event budgets, costing, and proposal structures
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to articulate ideas clearly to senior stakeholders and influence decisions
- Strong relationship management and client servicing capabilities, including account growth and cross-selling
- Organised and self-driven — able to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and internal collaboration in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for pipeline management and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline (or equivalent); an MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage
