Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer / Performance Engineering Specialist to ensure the scalability, reliability, stability, and performance of enterprise applications across distributed systems and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in performance testing, performance engineering, workload modeling, application monitoring, bottleneck analysis, and reliability engineering. The role involves designing and executing performance tests, analyzing system behavior under various workloads, identifying performance bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver highly reliable enterprise solutions.
The successful candidate will contribute to performance engineering initiatives by leveraging tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana to improve application performance, observability, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using Apache JMeter and LoadRunner.
- Define performance test strategies, workload models, test plans, and execution approaches for web applications, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Execute different types of performance testing including:
- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Spike Testing
- Volume Testing
- Endurance/Soak Testing
- Scalability Testing
- Capacity Testing
- Analyze application performance across application, API, middleware, database, network, and cloud infrastructure layers.
- Perform performance benchmarking and capacity assessments for enterprise applications.
- Use monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana to identify bottlenecks and perform root cause analysis.
- Monitor system metrics including:
- CPU Utilization
- Memory Usage
- Disk I/O
- Network Performance
- JVM Metrics
- Thread Pools
- Database Connections
- Application Transaction Metrics
- Conduct performance analysis for APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native applications.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, SRE teams, infrastructure teams, and operations teams to resolve performance issues.
- Participate in production incident investigations, performance troubleshooting, and technical war rooms.
- Perform database performance analysis including query optimization validation and transaction monitoring.
- Drive improvements in monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and observability practices.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and support shift-left performance engineering practices.
- Prepare performance test reports, dashboards, trend analysis, and executive summaries.
- Document Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommend preventive performance improvements.
- Support architecture reviews and identify scalability and reliability risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Ensure applications meet performance, availability, and reliability expectations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
- Strong experience executing enterprise-level performance testing initiatives.
- Hands-on expertise with JMeter and/or LoadRunner.
- Experience testing distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications.
- Strong understanding of performance engineering methodologies and best practices.
- Experience analyzing application, infrastructure, and database performance metrics.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Experience working in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environments.
- Healthcare domain experience, including:
- Claims Processing Systems
- Member Portals
- Provider Applications
- Healthcare Data Platforms
- Experience with proactive performance monitoring and reliability engineering.
- Knowledge of AIOps, alert correlation, and observability platforms.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Certifications in LoadRunner, Dynatrace, Azure, or cloud platforms are preferred.
