About the Role
Zero Space Furniture is a UAE-based furniture and interior fit-out company with a back-office team in Edappal, Kerala.
We are looking for a Technical Designer & Draftsman – Furniture to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of SketchUp and experience in preparing detailed furniture drawings, client approval drawings, layouts, elevations, sections, and shop drawings.
The role involves converting furniture concepts and project requirements into accurate technical drawings that can be used for client approval and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed furniture designs and 3D models using SketchUp.
- Prepare furniture drawings for client approval.
- Prepare detailed furniture shop drawings for production.
- Create floor layouts and furniture layouts based on project requirements.
- Prepare section and elevation drawings for furniture and interior projects.
- Develop detailed drawings for customized furniture.
- Prepare technical details including dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, and construction details.
- Prepare cut lists and production details when required.
- Modify drawings based on client feedback and project requirements.
- Coordinate with the sales, design, and production teams.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and suitable for manufacturing.
- Prepare project-specific technical drawings for commercial and corporate projects.
- Maintain proper drawing files and project documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SketchUp is required.
- Good understanding of furniture construction and manufacturing.
- Ability to read and understand furniture and architectural drawings.
- Experience preparing shop drawings and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of furniture materials, hardware, and construction methods.
- Good understanding of dimensions, measurements, and detailing.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Knowledge of rendering software is an advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in custom furniture manufacturing.
- Experience preparing drawings for office furniture, commercial projects, or interior fit-out projects.
- Experience preparing cut lists / production drawings.
- Experience working with UAE-based projects or clients will be an advantage.
