We are expanding our IP licensing business in India and are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to drive growth in a fast-growing and highly competitive market.
This role requires not only sales capability, but also strong market development, negotiation skills, and the ability to adapt global IP strategies to local market conditions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Pipeline Building
Identify and acquire new licensees across key categories (FMCG, QSR, retail, apparel, e-commerce, promotions)
Build a high-volume pipeline across multiple cities and industries
Proactively approach brands with little or no prior IP collaboration experience
2. Deal Structuring & Commercial Negotiation
Lead licensing negotiations including royalty structure, MG, and commercial terms
Adapt deal structures based on client scale and regional differences
Balance revenue targets with pricing sensitivity and deal feasibility
3.Market Mapping & Channel Strategy
Develop understanding of key retail channels, distributors, and brand ecosystems
Identify category opportunities and market gaps
Support go-to-market strategies for licensed products
4. Client Education & Localization
Educate partners on IP licensing value and business models
Co-develop products and campaigns tailored to local market needs
Translate global IP into commercially viable local concepts
5. Relationship & Ecosystem Building
Build and maintain relationships with brands, distributors, and partners
Collaborate closely with regional HQ and licensors
6.Market Intelligence
Monitor competitor activities and market trends
Provide insights on pricing, consumer behavior, and category performance
Support IP portfolio strategy in India
Requirements
Must Have
5+ years experience in business development, licensing, FMCG, or retail
Strong network in Indian brand or retail ecosystem
Proven track record in closing deals and negotiating commercial terms
Fluent in English (Hindi or regional languages is a plus)
Preferred
Experience in entertainment, licensing, or anime industry
Experience working across multiple regions
Understanding of pricing strategy and retail structure

Able to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
