About Saltstayz
Saltstayz is a boutique hotel brand running ~35 properties and ~1,000 keys across India in the midscale-economy segment, spanning four sub-brands — Autograph, Premier, Select, and Express. We're brand-led and tech-forward: our own direct booking platform, the Beyond loyalty program, the Sphere cashback engine, and SaltCore — a custom PMS we're building in-house to replace our vendor stack.
We're early, founder-led, and moving fast, on a path toward ₹3,000 Cr by 2035 — roughly 13x growth in keys.
We're hiring an Engineering Manager / Lead to build the team, systems, and standards that carry us there.
What makes the problems hard
Booking reliability at scale — real-time inventory, pricing, and reservations flowing across our platform, OTAs, and a PMS, where one failed sync means a lost or overbooked room. You'll own making this bulletproof: idempotency, reconciliation, circuit breakers, and clean failure states.
A PMS from scratch — SaltCore is a 0-to-1 build of the core operational software 30+ properties run their day on.
A real integration surface — channel managers, payments, CRM, WhatsApp/email, loyalty and cashback ledgers, with many edge cases and places for state to drift.
New product bets — day-use inventory, dynamic pricing, CRS/lead tooling, HRMS.
What you'll own
The team — grow, mentor, and lead a small senior engineering team; set the hiring bar as we scale.
Delivery — run a tight sprint cadence and ship reliably against business priorities.
Technical direction — own architecture, code quality, and standards; make the build-vs-buy calls.
Reliability — keep the booking, payment, and PMS-critical paths up, with real SLAs.
The bridge — turn product and strategy direction into well-engineered, shipped reality.
Our stack
Next.js/React / TypeScript · Node.js · BullMQ · PostgreSQL · MongoDb · REST integrations (eZee, Razorpay, Zoho, WhatsApp/email). You don't need every one — depth in building reliable, integration-heavy web systems is what matters.
What we're looking for
Experience leading and growing engineering teams, shipping production software people depend on.
Strong hands-on roots — you can still read a PR, reason about architecture, and debug a nasty production issue.
Depth in backend / systems: APIs, databases, async processing, and the failure modes of distributed, third-party-integrated systems.
Comfort in an early-stage, high-ownership environment — you set up process where it's missing.
Sharp judgment on reliability, trade-offs, and prioritization; clear communication with engineers and founders alike.
Bonus: hospitality, travel, e-commerce, or fintech — any high-transaction, inventory-and-payments domain; or having built/replaced a core operational platform.

The details
Location: On-site, Gurugram.
Experience: 5–10 years in engineering, with 2+ years in a lead / EM role.
Compensation: ₹12–18 LPA + ESOPs.
