We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MongoDB Atlas Platform Support Engineer to provide enterprise grade operational and technical support for MongoDB Atlas in cloud native environments. This role is responsible for end to end L1-L3 production support, day 2 operational excellence, performance and availability optimization, and close collaboration with application teams, platform engineering, and cloud service providers.
The ideal candidate is a MongoDB Atlas subject matter expert with solid cloud, automation, and database fundamentals, capable of supporting mission critical systems in a 24×7 enterprise production environment.
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide L1 / L2 / L3 production support for MongoDB Atlas clusters, including incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution

Own day 2 operations, including cluster health monitoring, capacity planning, scaling, backups, restores, upgrades, and maintenance coordination

Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance, stability, and availability issues related to queries, indexing strategies, replication, sharding, and client connectivity

Configure, manage, and support Atlas networking and security, including Private Endpoints, IP access controls, encryption, IAM, and compliance requirements

Partner with application teams to support onboarding, migrations, production readiness, and ongoing optimization

Collaborate with MongoDB vendor support and internal engineering teams on escalations, defect resolution, and security remediation

Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and supporting automation scripts

Support multi cloud MongoDB Atlas environments across Azure, AWS, and GCP
-
Participate in on call rotations and provide 24×7 production support coverage as required

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

8+ years of hands on experience supporting MongoDB Atlas in production environments

4+ years of experience supporting relational databases (SQL Server or equivalent preferred)

Hands on experience provisioning and managing MongoDB Atlas resources using APIs

Experience supporting enterprise scale / multi cloud MongoDB deployments

Experience supporting cloud hosted databases on Azure, AWS, and GCP

Experience building automation for operational workflows, monitoring, and diagnostics

Proven experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation

Solid expertise in MongoDB Atlas operations, administration, and troubleshooting

Deep understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharding, indexing, and performance tuning
-
Solid understanding of security, encryption, backups, disaster recovery, and compliance in cloud environments

Familiarity with GitHub, including GitHub Actions and Kubernetes -based application platforms

Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Golang, Java, Shell, or PowerShell

Proven ability to diagnose and resolve high severity production issues under pressure, with clear and effective stakeholder communication

Proven excellent debugging, troubleshooting, communication, and presentation skills

Demonstrated self motivation, ownership mindset, and positive attitude
