Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Robotics Engineer to lead the programming, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of industrial robotic and automation systems.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with industrial robots, PLC programming, robot integration, motion control, and automation systems, along with the ability to independently handle projects from development through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, configure, integrate, and commission industrial robotic systems.
- Develop and optimize robot programs for manufacturing and automation applications.
- Work with industrial robots such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, or similar platforms.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automated machinery and robotic cells.
- Integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, conveyors, VFDs, servo systems, and other automation equipment.
- Perform robot teaching, calibration, testing, debugging, and cycle-time optimization.
- Develop and implement automation solutions based on project requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, control panel drawings, and automation schematics.
- Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, PLC, and communication-related issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, and Profibus.
- Conduct machine testing, FAT, SAT, installation, commissioning, and production trials.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, production, and project teams for system integration.
- Provide technical support during customer-site installation and commissioning.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement.
- Prepare technical documentation, robot programs, PLC backups, and commissioning reports.
- Guide and support junior engineers and technicians.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in industrial robotics and automation.
- Proficiency in programming and commissioning industrial robots.
- Good knowledge of PLC programming and control systems.
- Experience with FANUC / ABB / KUKA / Yaskawa robots will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Mitsubishi / Schneider PLCs is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HMI, VFD, servo drives, sensors, and industrial control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industrial communication networks and protocols.
- Ability to read electrical and automation drawings.
- Understanding of machine safety and robotic safety systems.
- Willingness to travel for installation and commissioning projects.
Education
- B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial robotics, automation, or robotic system integration.
- Candidates with strong experience in robot programming, PLC integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting will be preferred.
Preferred Candidate
- Strong practical and hands-on approach.
- Ability to independently handle robotics and automation projects.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer/project sites.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, machine building, or robotic system integration is preferred.
